PON XXI has made history by making esports an official sport. For the first time, esports is officially contested as a full-fledged sport, marking recognition of the potential and rapid development of the gaming industry in Indonesia.

Games to be Competed
A number of popular games have been selected to be part of this prestigious event, including: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Free Fire, PUBG Mobile (PUBGM), Lokapala, and eFootball. Additionally, there are also several games that will be contested as exhibition matches, such as Honor of Kings and Battle of Guardians.

PON Esports 2024 Match Schedule
The PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra Esports competition will be held at one of the venues in Medan, namely the Medan International Convention Center (MICC). The Esports branch will take place from September 13 to 19, 2024.

Friday, September 13, 2024: Esports eFootball will be held both on-stream and off-stream.
Saturday, September 14, 2024: Esports Free Fire and PUBG Mobile will be broadcast on-stream, and Esports eFootball will be held off-stream.
Sunday, September 15, 2024: Esports Free Fire and PUBG Mobile will be broadcast on-stream, and Esports Battle of Guardians and Honor of Kings will be held off-stream.
Monday, September 16, 2024: Esports Mobile Legend: Bang Bang will be broadcast both on-stream and off-stream, while Esports Battle of Guardians and Honor of Kings will be held off-stream.
Tuesday, September 17, 2024: Esports eFootball will be broadcast on-stream and Esports Lokapala will be held off-stream.
Wednesday, September 18, 2024: Esports Mobile Legend: Bang Bang will be broadcast on-stream and Esports Lokapala will be held off-stream.
Thursday, September 19, 2024: Esports Lokapala will be broadcast on-stream.

The PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra Esports competition will also be broadcast live on the PB ESI Official YouTube channel.

With the holding of esports at PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024, it is hoped that esports can continue to develop in Indonesia and receive greater support from the government and the public. The presence of esports in multi-event events such as PON is also expected to open up opportunities for esports to enter other international sporting events.
