Overpowered heroes in Mobile Legends often become regular bans in ranked matches because they can have a major impact from the draft pick phase. These heroes can change the direction of a match, stay flexible across several roles, dominate team fights, or become too dangerous when used by players who truly understand them.

Understanding why certain heroes are often banned can help players become more aware of drafting during rank push. It is not only about looking at high damage, but also paying attention to map control, objectives, team combos, and a hero’s potential to counter the opponent’s strategy.

List of Heroes Often Banned in Ranked Matches

Here are several heroes that often become major concerns during the ban phase in ranked matches.
These heroes can change depending on patches, buffs, nerfs, and team strategies, but the following heroes have strong reasons why they are often not allowed to pass through the draft freely.

1. Zhuxin

Since her release, Zhuxin has almost always been a regular ban because of her versatile kit, including damage, crowd control, and utility. Even after receiving several nerfs and updates, Zhuxin is still considered safe and flexible to use in various team compositions.

In the current patch, Zhuxin still has a high win rate, making her worthy of ban priority. Letting Zhuxin through often means giving the opponent a mid hero who can become a secondary support or even a sudden initiator.

2. Marcel

Marcel is getting a lot of attention because he brings heavy pressure in the latest META. Heroes like this usually enter the ban list quickly if they are too strong in team fights, flexible, or difficult to counter.

Marcel’s strength lies in his impact across different phases of the game, with annoying crowd control that can disrupt the opponent’s movement. If he is left open, the opponent can build their strategy around this hero’s power spike, making a ban the safer choice.

3. Guinevere

Guinevere is often banned because her pick-off ability and crowd control are dangerous. Once she catches an important target, the team fight can immediately shift, especially if the opponent has no escape tool or Purify.

At a competitive level, one successful pick-off can lead to Turtle, Lord, or turret control. Because of that, Guinevere is often considered too risky to leave open when the opponent has a combo that supports her. Besides that, Guinevere can be used as a Jungler or Roamer, which increases her flexibility in the draft pick phase.

4. Phoveus

Phoveus is often banned because he is effective against agile heroes that rely on dash, blink, or fast engage skills. His skills can punish enemy movement and make opponents struggle to play freely.

Because of that, Phoveus is usually removed from the draft when a team wants to use high-mobility heroes. This ban becomes a safer choice so the team fight strategy does not fall apart.

5. Arlott

Arlott is often banned because he has strong crowd control, sustain, and pick-off ability. This hero can apply pressure in the EXP Lane while still being dangerous during team fights and objective contests.

The main reason Arlott receives attention is his flexibility and impact. If he is given to an EXP player who truly masters him, Arlott can lock down important targets and make the opponent’s team fights much harder.

6. Claude

Claude often becomes a major concern because his scaling and area damage are very dangerous in the late game. If he is allowed to snowball, Claude can become a win condition that is difficult to stop.

Besides that, Claude has excellent mobility for a Marksman. With good positioning, Claude’s Blazing Duet can deal massive damage, then he can escape before being caught using Battle Mirror Image. Because of that, banning Claude is often a safe choice when the team does not have a clear counter.
